Global Procurement Director

As Global Procurement Director, you will drive the development and execution of category strategies for core materials (including paper) and key equipment across the organization. Your mission is to optimize Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and create sustainable business value through strategic sourcing and supplier excellence.

Your function:

You will play a key role in shaping procurement strategy, leveraging market intelligence, and leading cross-functional initiatives across multiple entities.

You will:

  • Define and roll out global category strategies that support our broader business goals
  • Lead complex sourcing initiatives and negotiations, always focusing on long-term value creation
  • Act as a trusted partner for internal stakeholders, ensuring early involvement in strategic projects
  • Build and manage a high-performing supplier ecosystem across multiple entities
  • Stay ahead of market developments, supplier capabilities, and technological trends
  • Oversee supplier onboarding, including quality validation and financial assessments
  • Take ownership of contract management and ensure compliance with procurement processes
  • Drive knowledge sharing, standardization, and continuous improvement across entities
  • Identify synergies and collaboration opportunities across the organization
  • Proactively address supply and quality challenges through data-driven analysis and improvement actions

Your profile:

You’re a strategic thinker with a hands-on mindset and a passion for procurement excellence. You know how to navigate complex environments, influence stakeholders, and turn insights into impactful decisions.

You bring:

  • 10 to 15 years of experience in procurement, with strong exposure to strategic category management
  • Proven expertise in developing “go-to-market” strategies, managing supplier portfolios (global vs. regional), and leading tenders or strategic partnerships
  • A solid understanding of procurement in a production environment — you know what really matters in operational continuity and cost optimization
  • A strong focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), rather than price-driven decision making
  • Experience working across international environments or multiple entities
  • Knowledge of the paper and cardboard market is a strong advantage, given its strategic importance and volatility
  • Affinity with or experience in IT procurement, acting as a business partner for IT stakeholders
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field (Master’s preferred), complemented by procurement certifications (such as CIPS, CPSM, CIPP, or CIPM)
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to challenge constructively and build alignment
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus
  • Willingness to travel regularly (around 20%)
