Director - Group Compliance

Your function:

 

As the Director - Group Compliance, you lead and continuously evolve Cartamundi’s global compliance framework, ensuring adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies across all regions and business units. Acting as a strategic partner to senior leadership, you provide independent oversight while embedding compliance as a pragmatic enabler of the business.

 

You will join the Legal & Compliance team and be based at Cartamundi’s HQ in Turnhout, Belgium.

 

Operating in a complex, international matrix organization, you will drive alignment and accountability through influence. The role oversees key compliance risk areas including anti-bribery and corruption, competition law, data protection, and product and consumer regulations and proactively identifies regulatory changes in core regions.  It is responsible for mandatory global compliance training

 

The position plays a critical role in supporting business activities across Cartamundi's manufacturing, solutions, and entertainment businesses, spanning third-party branded products in a B2B environment and owned-brand activities across both B2B and direct-to-consumer channels.  It ensures that legal, compliance, and ethical considerations are anchored in business processes and embedded in commercial decision-making and business growth. It promotes a strong culture of integrity through leading by example, championing the Code of Conduct (Code of conduct - Cartamundi), maintaining effective speak-up processes, and overseeing investigations and remediation efforts. 

 

Your profile:

 

  • 10 plus years’ professional compliance experience.
  • Strong background in compliance, legal, risk, internal audit, regulatory affairs or related fields.
  • GDPR knowledge.
  • Extensive experience in complex, matrixed multinational environments.
  • Proven ability to influence and build trust with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience in manufacturing and/or product-based environments with global clients is key.
  • Exposure to licensing, distribution, or third-party ecosystems is a strong plus.
  • Exposure to consumer facing business is a plus.
  • Strategic mindset combined with pragmatic, business-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work in an autonomous yet team spirited way in a multicultural environment.
  • High integrity, independence, and ability to operate at executive level.
  • Fluent in English. Dutch profiency is a plus
  • Willing to travel internationally - up to 10%
