ESG Controller
We are seeking an experienced and motivated ESG Controller to join our team. In this role, you will ensure compliance with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and EU Taxonomy reporting requirements, while also providing support to the financial controlling department.
Working closely with the controlling and sustainability teams, you will be responsible for collecting, managing, and reporting accurate and auditable ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) data. As a member of the Corporate Finance team, you will be actively involved in the implementation of the ESG reporting software. You will play a key role in audits, process improvements, and ensuring the organization stays compliant with evolving regulations.
Your function:
ESG Data Management:
Develop and maintain robust processes for collecting, validating, and managing ESG data from various sources into the ESG reporting software. Ensure data completeness, accuracy, consistency, and auditability.
Audit and Assurance:
Support external audits, implement controls to ensure ESG data meets audit standards, and collaborate with auditors to obtain limited assurance on CSRD and EU Taxonomy reports.
Regulatory Compliance:
Prepare ESG reports in alignment with CSRD and EU Taxonomy requirements, and adapt practices to comply with regulatory updates.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the controlling and sustainability teams to integrate ESG reporting into broader financial and operational processes.
Process Optimization and Training:
Identify and implement improvements in ESG data collection and reporting. Provide (online) training and guidance to colleagues worldwide on sustainability reporting requirements.
Reporting and Communication:
Prepare dashboards, reports, and insights on ESG performance for internal stakeholders, including senior management.
Ad hoc support group consolidation & reporting:
Assist group consolidation & reporting team if needed in review of monthly financial statements and variance analysis, quarterly financial forecast, annual budget.
Your profile:
- You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Sustainability, or a related field
- You have 3 years of experience in controlling, audit, or sustainability reporting.
- Familiarity with CSRD, EU Taxonomy, and ESG frameworks (e.g., GRI, TCFD, SASB) is a plus but can be developed on the job.
- You have strong audit and analytical skills
- It is nice to have experience with data management tools and consolidation & reporting software as well as ERP systems
- You are a good communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- You are detail-oriented, accurate, and compliance-focused
- Proficient in English
