Chris van Doorslaer, CEO of Cartamundi, world leader in playing cards and card games, has won the title of Belgian Manager Of The Year 2015.
Hosted by respected business media outlets Trends and kanaal Z, this prestigious award showcases Belgian managers “who have distinguished themselves” over the past year.
Mr. van Doorslaer won the award against some impressive competition, including highly respected managers from such varied areas as banking, food, pharmaceuticals and law. They winner was chosen by a professional jury of writers and business specialists. Members of the public were also invited to vote.
Chris van Doorslaer oversaw a transformative 2015 for Cartamundi. It was a year that saw the acquisition of two state-of-the-art production facilities from Hasbro and with it the expansion of Cartamundi’s business beyond leadership in playing cards and cards for games to become the largest manufacturer of board games in the world.
Chris van Doorslaer says: “This is without doubt my proudest achievement at Cartamundi but I could never have achieved this alone. I consider this award as a feather in the cap of a strong and passionate Cartamundi team. We are now truly a one-stop shop which can today provide sustainable alternatives for our customers as well as long-term viability for our group.”
The Manager of the Year award winner was announced on the sixth of January during a glittering event at the Brussels Expo. This win follows hard on the heels of the title of Company of the Year, awarded to Cartamundi by the Belgian-American Chamber of Commerce in 2015.
