Corporate Governance

Cartamundi was established in 1970 as a joint venture combining the playing card activities of Brepols, Van Genechten and Biermans. To this day, members of the families de Somer and de Cartier de Marchienne, founders of Brepols and Van Genechten, are part of our Board of Directors. Additionally, in order to guarantee an appropriate balance of independency, skills, collective experience, background, and knowledge, Cartamundi has appointed four external directors.
