Cartamundi Ireland will use its board games factory to assemble essential medical test kits.
In these challenging times, fortunately, there are moments of pride. This is one of them! Cartamundi Ireland will use its board games factory to assemble essential medical test kits. Starting Wednesday, April 15, the Cartamundi board games factory in Waterford will partially re-open.
Barry Morrissey, Managing Director of Cartamundi Ireland, says: “A small team of employees will work on the plant’s production lines to package components of essential medical test kits. We are delighted to be in a position to use our expertise here to support this important and essential activity at this time.”
David Germis, EVP Europe at Cartamundi, continues: “We could not do this without the support and dedication of our employees, and their health and safety remains our top priority.” Specific protective measures have been installed to protect the employees, including plexiglass screens between workstations.
The factory is ready to fully re-open as soon as the government restrictions are lifted. Cartamundi is already producing protective face shields at its factories in Dallas, Texas, and in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts, in the US.
